Maryland and Delaware Beach Photographer | Dear Summer, I love you.

It's been 6 months since I pushed the publish button on Facebook, a step which officially started a new journey for me. I want to thank my friends and family for encouraging me to pursue something I love. Having a 4 year old, I get asked 'why' about a zillion times a day. Why is the sky blue? Why is there a crust on my sandwich? Why isn't there a crust on my sandwich?

Why do you take pictures so much? Because I love giving people memories.

Why do you love taking pictures of me and Jack? Well this one has a lot of answers.

I have a terrible memory.  Pictures capture memories. After I lost my Mom to cancer, I realized that every picture I have of her brings back a memory. Things I never want to forget, but that get lost in the chaos of life. To relive those moments, is really a priceless gift. My life won't look like this forever, and while I am excited for the future, I want to remember today. I want to pass the memories we are making right now onto my children.

I love my life. I love my kids. I love learning. Some days, all days really, I am exhausted. All I have had for lunch are the crusts of a PB&J (unless that day we love crusts, in which case, more coffee please), and my house is sure to be a mess. But it's MY mess. It's a beautiful, wonderful mess, filled with love, laughter, tears and life. Except for that random coffee cup that has taken up residence next to my husbands sink, that I ignore, because it's best for everyone involved. If you follow me on snapchat you know which coffee cup I speak of.

It happens so fast. It does. Some days feel like they will never end, yet the years slip by. I feel like Emma was born yesterday, and she's 4. I could take pictures of my kids tomorrow, but tomorrow will be different from today, they will be older, and they could be back on crusts which means I better plan ahead for lunch.

So cheers to all my BKLP fans, all 287 of you! 287 in 6 months, my heart is so full I can't express how much it means to me. I started with a camera and I took pics in auto mode. I have learned so much over the past 4 years, I reached out to some photographers in my area and no one wanted to help me learn, so I took a class with my bestie. I ran with it, upgraded cameras and she bought an expensive camera bag that is sitting in a closet. She has amazing talents elsewhere and is the official baker of the Kuhlmann household.

I started this journey because I know what capturing moments in photographs means to me, and I wanted to be able to do that for others. I want to thank everyone who has supported me, old friends, new friends, family-I love you all, and would hug each and every one of you right now if I could. In the short six months since this adventure began, I have seen so much beauty, and for that I am beyond grateful. I am now surrounded by some amazing photographer friends, and one in-particular that I am so grateful for, you know who you are ;)

If you need a photographer and you like my style, I'm your girl. If you're not into lifestyle photography that's okay to! The world would be a boring place if we all had the same taste. Below are some of my favorite recent memories, all from summer. Dear Summer, I love you.
